My little Craft shop. Something that makes me busy while looking after my Ausome kids. Hinde biro maging isang Ausome parent, you need to sacrifice a lot of your personal happy time to find ways to survive while being closer to home. I had to choose work opportunities if outside Cordillera. Good thing we have the skill and knowledge in crafting. The work is long and hard and pay is little, sometimes none. But we are surviving. Hopefully our handmade paper products will kick off later this year. Happy hand made paper making! Visit our facebook page for more details and samples.
Last November 20, 2025, I went to Cordillera Career Development College (CCDC) to get their recyclable paper trash that was shredded. 6 trashbags bags full. Instead of throwing them away, they decided to give it to me so I can recycle them into reusable paper. Thank you very much CCDC! I will take this opportunity to say that as of now we will stop getting recyclable papers because my small shop is already full. Even our bodega is full of discarded books from schools. We are just a manpower of two so we cannot keep up with the huge pile of paper waste. This is also a realization, there are hundreds of thousands of discarded elementary and highschool books as well as paper trash from all over and there is no recycling facility in the Cordillera for this purpose. Every year, hundreds of thousands of new books are distributed but after it's use, there is no clear program for disposal or re-using or recycling. Just imagine the number of trees being cut for this purpose. There are tons and tons of paper waste and they end up being burned or at the landfill. I saw this first hand. I am just a small handmade paper maker, I can only recycle to what I physically can. I just hope that our good elective politicians can also consider buying paper making machines as part of the livelihood of the community.
